This bed is really quite lovely and fits perfectly in a smaller sized guest room. Assembly was actually pretty easy--think I could have counted the total number of pieces on two hands. Instructions recommended two people working together, but I had no problems assembling myself.
Trundle slides smoothly as advertised, and color is a lovely dark cherry. Note that because of the format, you are probably limited to putting the bed in a corner (unless it is going in a huge room, like in the listings picture).
I bought two memory foam mattresses, an 8 for the top bed, and a 6 for the trundle. It was a great decision since a second 8 for the bottom would have been too tight a fit.
Probably the highest quality piece of unassembled furniture Ive purchased. Should last years with regular use, and perhaps decades as a guest bed.
