I needed bookcases. I scoured this website, and found several versions of nearly identical bookcases, except for minor details and pricing.
What keeps these bookcases sturdy are crossbars, that are supposed to screw into the back of the unit, one at top, one at bottom. As there are two crossbars per bookcase, there should be four screw holes drilled into the bars that face in the same direction.
As I saved adding the crossbars to the last, it was only after constructing BOTH bookcases that I discovered there are NOT the appropriate number of screw holes drilled into the correct side of the bars to install the crossbars. Without the crossbars, these are some wobbily and useless shelves. I used a drill and added my own holes. Everything is just fine. I am my own hero.
I wouldnt encourage you to purchase these shelves, unless you are willing and able to make modifications. In which case, these are a bargain, as they are identical to several other bookcases that sell for higher prices.
