Sturdy, nice-looking, and easy to assemble. Best for a thinner mattress, though, and an odd width.
The ONE issue I have with this item is that the width is very strange. Its about 35 inches, narrower than the normal 38-39in of a twin mattress, and considerably wider than the ~30 inches of a cot-sized mattress. Since I have my bed in a corner and usually put several stuffed animals along the wall, I simply put the overhang over there. The mattress could also be centered without much issue as long as one sits carefully. There are no corner holders on this frame, so the mattress fits fine. It is a little odd, though.
All the good!!!: This bed arrived and was assembled today. I did it by myself, with no problems. It was a super-easy to assemble. Everything was clearly-labeled, and the hardware came in a pre-sorted blister pack and even included an extra of each piece! The included allen wrench was the only tool necessary to complete the assembly. The instructions were clear (although at a few points I wasnt detail-oriented and used the wrong bolt or put a piece on upside-down. Thats on me, though, not the product!)
Its now assembled and ready to sleep on. I sat on it and very gently bounced, and there was no movement or creaking. I did not move overly enthusiastically. While I weigh less than a third of the supposed 750-lb weight suggestion, I am overweight and I dont want to take chances.
I have a 12-inch mattress, and that is definitely NOT what this frame was meant for. Nearly half of it towers over the footboard . I dont mind, but you want that classic footboard look, I imagine a 6-inch mattress would be best. The headboard is fine, but theres only a few inches between the top of the mattress and the wooden decoration portion.
The storage capability is pretty good!!!. The bed has no leg at the exact center of the bed (it does have one on the sides, for a total of six legs), so the entire underbed is available to put things in.
