I got this bed after I saw it at my friends place. She had purchased it in a Queen but I bought might in Full (which is offered under prime). Even though the shipping date was estimated to be over a week with Prime, my bed still came in two days. The boxes are heavy so I strongly suggest you bring them in with the help of another person.
I cant comment on the building experience as my Mom built the whole thing but as far as the end product goes, I love it! I was comparing the same type of headboard to the overs sold on Target and Wayfair and I saved a significant amount of money by getting this. I kept my old mattress from my old bed and I did notice some spacing between the mattress and the end of the bed. The slats dont go all the way under the headboard so unless you have a taller mattress, you might see the same kind of space that I do. Because of that, my headboard is a still loose but I am hoping I can wiggle it back and secure that properly.
Other than that, I love it so much! It gives my room a very chic, modern look and the color and detail is beautiful!
