It is surprisingly sturdy. Like, Ive broken every cheap bed Ive had in the past decade, and I dont feel worried about this one. But it should be sturdy. The pieces are substantial metal. I was the only one home and had to lug it upstairs piece by piece because the box weighs at least a hundred pounds. You should have someone else help carry it.
Putting it together was easy and I did so solo in about 2 hours, but I wasnt exactly racing. The directions are well drawn and written and you can choose from 2 different heights of the bed.
