The packages were large and cumbersome, but once actually opened with all the pieces laid out the bed was easy to build. Even my toddler assisted! The bed is pretty sturdy, make sure follow the final instruction to screw the slats into the frame!
Final note: the drawers are not as deep as Id like. They are only about 1/3 as deep as the whole bed is wide. But ultimately, this can be accommodated elsewhere in the room with other shelves and such.
Overall, Im very happy with this purchase. The kiddo loves it too!
