Serves its purpose well as a loft and as a study space. It took two people a little over two hours to assemble, you definitely need two sets of hands for the job if you dont want the big parts to get unweildy, three people would make the process really hum along. Make sure to leave the screws only partially tightened until all the parts are in place, otherwise youll have a difficult time getting the last few parts to fit.
Its about par for the course as far as bunks/lofts go, it doesnt creak at all, and its certainly not unstable, but it definitely shakes a bit as you climb the ladder. Side to side movement isnt too bad (i.e. if youre rolling over or coming up the side ladder), back and forth movement is more noticeable (i.e. if youre coming up the end ladder). Wooden lofts are sturdier and have a higher weight capacity, but theyre much more pricey. This loft is perfect for the price range.
The flat ladder are nicer than rounded steps, but they can still be uncomfortable with bare feet and slippery with socks on. I do wish the guardrails were a little higher so you could fit a 10 mattress and have more than a stubby 2 of rail.
The desk space is functional, the corkboard/backed bulletin board is also a nice feature. I can fit a monitor and compact keyboard on there comfortably.
Overall theres not a better loft at this price.
Good basic loft
