The bed came in two packages that were delivered in great condition. The the instructions were very straightforward and it took my husband about 2 hours to completely put together. The tools needed was an Allen wrench (which was included) and a screwdriver. For the top bunk I bought a twin XL mattress and it fit perfectly and we used out old queen for the bottom. We didnt get the truddle but the space under the bottom bunk is awesome for storage containers. Overall a sturdy bed and a great buy.
