The assembly was easy and overall it seems well made. The biggest challenge is, it does not stand up extended as it ships. The base it way too small and will not stand upright once you open the umbrella. You need to either purchase and use a fillable base, or perhaps mount it to a deck with bolts.
Maybe I missed it, but there was no indication it wouldnt just open and be usable. If you are looking for a free standing umbrella, this will not work unless you purchase and use a base. I had to buy one and fill it with sand for it to work.
