    Hidden spot

I put the swing in the middle of a weeping cherry tree. The tree overlooks the valley below. My granddaughter loves her shady hidden spot surrounded by draping branches covered in leaves. There are many breaks in the leaves so she can see all around while being obscured from the outside. I put a couple of big stones near the chair so the swing could be set a little higher off the ground. I also hung a thick soft rope near the swing so she has something to grab as she gets in and out of the swing. Once you sit back is the swing you can relax and float. I tested the swing. The swing held my 280 pounds with no issues. I was very comfortable. In my situation, do recommend three things. The extra rope for getting in and out of the chair. A plastic cover to keep the swing dry when my granddaughter is done. Use a thick strap to wrap around the tree branch. Any strap will work, but a thicker strap will put less stress on the branch. Lastly use a carabiner clip to connect the swing to the strap. This way you can easily remove the swing from the tree.
