Perfect for a small apartment space. Overall I was very pleased with the quality of the bed. All solid wood with a very smooth finish. It was easy to assemble and took about 4 hours with only one person doing most of the assembly. My only complaint is the ladder does not have a good way for smaller hands to grasp on. My 3 year old who is quite petite has a hard time climbing up and down. And since the finish is very smooth the rungs of the ladder are quite slick. Im going to add some grip tape for traction. One other note is to measure the heights of the twin mattress you are using against the height of the side rails for the top bunk. Our mattress is quite thick so there is only about 4-5 inches of the rail exposed to prevent a child from rolling off.
