I got this for my son to use on his new bunk bed. Before his bunk bed, he used a little table next to his bed for his alarm clock, tissues, and water bottle. After he got the bunk bed, he wasn't able to have easy access to those things. This shelf is exactly what he needed. He was so excited when I surprised him with it. It also has a little slot for some books, which he loves because he loves reading too.
