Looks great - disappointing that the headboard was not taller, but I read previous reviews and knew what I was getting into. We have a hybrid spring/memory foam mattress and almost got a platform box spring for it. You definitely dont need it, or you wont be able to see the headboard or experience the nice cushion backing. Definitely a great buy!
