Effective. No issues with either bed. Reviews that say the holes didnt line up/ problem there is people tightened the screws to much. As with anything you leave the screws loose and tighten all at the end. Had no problems. Plenty of space for the kids to sit up on the bed. Had both up in same room in 2 hours, and thats with kids helping and dismantling old bunk bed.
