Bought this as an early Christmas present for my 11yr old. She has always wanted a bunk bed but we are very limited in space. The shelves serve more as a catch all (she has far too many books for it). The desk is used all day, everyday. While I would love to have her push it in when its not in use, it doesnt seem to ever not be used lol. The drawers could be a bit larger. She doesnt have many clothes but the ones she wears dont all fit. At 11yrs the ladder seems to be more of a recommendation than a requirement. She is lanky as all get out and uses one rung just to get high enough to over the banister. She keeps a tent on it as well so the banister cutout is blocked for the most part. How she doesnt break something getting up in the middle of the night, Ill never know. The underside serves as a wonderful storage area for her tubs of art supplies too. Overall, shes incredibly pleased with this purchase! Love this product
