I had this chair for 10 months. Love it. Very comfortable. But it broke. I opened it up to check and found a weakness.
I tend to shift around a lot when Im sitting. Normally Ill put my hands on the 2 sides, lift myself off the seat a bit, shift, and sit back down. A few days ago, the right side broke. When I peeled open the black felt and the upholstery covering, I found that the weld as snapped. The arm-back piece is upholstery wrapped on a steel frame. Likewise, the seat has a steel frame. The arm-back frame and the seat frame are spot/tack welded together. So with repeated stress from me lifting myself, the spot weld at the arm position snapped.
The weakness, obviously is the spot/tack welded as oppose to continuous welded. Not a welder, I have no way to repair it. Bugs me that I have to replace this chair.
