I had a handyman friend set this bed up for me, and he was able to do so in 35min. All of the parts were in the box and the instructions as well. My existing mattress fit like a glove within the space of the platform, and once I laid down it was a perfect height. The headboard and footboard are smooth, not edged, so no bumps of the hand when making the bed in the morning. Its a very modern style that makes the room fit more current now. Great value for the price.
