Poor construction. It was really hard to find a canopy bed for our daughter, as most of them had a platform bottom (not used with a box spring), and we had just gotten a whole mattress set for her less than a year ago. Keeping the box spring was important to us, as in our experience, it is way more comfortable with it than without it.
This bed is beautiful, and our daughter adores it. It went together well, and is very sturdy. The only thing I would change is the top rails could be more solid. They hold her canopy well, but I feel like they might sag under certain conditions.
