I bought this bed for my kiddo, since we are short on space and she was wanting her own bed. While I would have been able to put this together by myself, it was certainly easier to have someone else available with me to help when putting two partiallyassembled pieces together. All of the parts were nicely labeled, and everything went right together in approximately an hour.
The bed itself seems pretty sturdy. I climb up to tuck in my daughter, and while the bed does move a little back and forth, it doesnt feel like its going to fall over, or break apart at all. I wouldnt recommend doing anything cry, but for general use, it seems to work fantastically.
I did take off one star, simply because certain pieces of the railing do creak a little bit when youre using them to assist in your climbing up/down the ladder, and as some people have pointed out already, the ladder rungs arent easy on the feet. Other than that, though, this is an excellent bed frame and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive loft bed.
