Enough strength. I wasnt sure if this set was going to look super cheap, but for the price I am quite happy with it. Its not real wood but it does look like it. Seems sturdy and solid. We bought it as a bar table that could be pushed against a wall or shifted to oversee the basement tv. Easy instructions for set up. There were a few minor scratches in delivery but not very visible.
