Its solid, does not squeak or make noise. Its simple but the craftmanship is good. Its long enough for a California king, a couple of inches wider than needed. 80 long is a standard king, California king is 84 This frame is 82 and allows the mattress to fit under the head board. The head board is adjustable and accommodates my 12 tall Euro top mattress. Happy with it, no problems.
