I am a mom with a kindergartener, a dog, and a cat. We have a small living room and only I would be assembling the couch so I needed something on the smaller side, lightweight, and easy to put together. This turned out to be perfect for those needs. In addition, messes happen every day and it has held up well. Its easy to clean and there are no tears or other issues with it. The cup holders and elevated part are adequate when I need them and they fold away nicely when I need more seating space. I am 59, of average body build, and I tend to prefer plush furniture but I was able to get into a comfortable lying position without needing anything to be adjacent to the couch to augment the surface area or use something to provide a soft buffer under me. This couch really turned out to be much better than I was expecting.
