Nice loft bed for an 11 y/o. Easy to put together by myself.
Assembly is very easy. So reading the other reviews and reading the instructions all the way through first helps a lot. I put this bed together by myself in about less than 2 hours. The other reviews and the instructions both point out DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS TILL ITS ALL TOGETHER.
And thats true! I put it together by myself with it laying down first, keeping about a 1/4 slack with every bolt. When it was time to put the mattress slats on, I grabbed the back bar and the front bar and lifted it up. Im 56 and have fairly strong upper body strength (carried the box from the UPS truck on my shoulder because I was tired of seeing the driver sliding it across the floor banging into everything in the back of his truck) and it was wobbly. So I put the slats in, locked them in place with the plastic tabs in the kit, and then tightened every bolt finger tight. Went back through with a hex key socket and ratchet and tightened them up further. NOT TOO TIGHT! We are using an 8 memory foam mattress that we picked up from walmart that was in a box. Opened box and bag up, let sit for 6 hrs and it was at full thickness. Not too thick for this bed frame that my 11 y/o will roll over the rails.
Figured Ill keep updating this as the year goes on. No squeaks, not wobbly, very well made. Next week I was planning on taking each bolt out at a time and adding blue lock/tite to each one and putting it back in tight to keep anything from shaking loose but I might not have too. Will be using either pool noodle or foam pipe insulation on the ladder. Pics will be up soon when hes not actually sleeping in it.
