Husband was able to put this together very quickly. The included wrench tool thing stripped almost immediately but luckily he had plenty of tools to finish the job. Sturdy piece, came with all the parts, and looks great in our room. Cats like to walk along the headboard and see out the window, so I guess its a win for them too. Slats are close together which is good to support a large heavy mattress like Purple or other foam options plus two humans. Slats stay in place with a velcro strip on either side which is nifty. I like it.
