You will want an electric screwdriver or drill with hex bit
The instructions were pretty clear. I managed to assemble it in about 4 hours with my 10 year old helping. Just go ahead and add an electric screwdriver or drill with hex bit to your cart now if you dont already have one / assembly with just the included Allen wrench would have been a nightmare. It is a nice looking bed and seems sturdy. The desk is a nice size / bigger than I expected / about 1/2 the width of the bed. This one was perfect
