The headboard is maybe a little shorter than I expected though not drastically. I have an 11 mattress and I think anything thinker than that and you might want a taller headboard. More importantly though, it was easy and intuitive to put together. Had a great first night of sleep with no crea. Looks great and feels solid. I wouldnt hesitate if you like the style.
