We originally bought one of these from Walmart 3 years ago for my oldest daughter. Once my youngest needed a bed we went looking but they were sold out on the Walmart Website. Lucky for us still had it in stock (we bought a twin bed in white). Its a great bed for little ones. I will say its not the most sturdy bed out there so if you have kids that rough house to the extreme or you need a bed for an adult, keep looking. Our girls jump and bounce and the bed does require a periodical tightening every so often of the bolts. Its never collapsed on us. As for a mattress, we have the Classic Brands Mercer 12 in. Hybrid Cool Gel Memory Foam and Innerspring Mattress on it. It fits perfectly.
