We bought this primarily for an extra bed for the grandchildren, but it is certainly large enough and sturdy enough for an adult. The ottoman is quite roomy and very attractive. Once it is opened up into a bed, its a perfect extra bed for anybody. Even our dog wanted to jump up on it, though we kept her off. Its not difficult to open up or to close up, so I was quite pleasantly surprised at how happy I am with it. Its pricier than most of the competition, but you are getting a higher/quality product.
This is must have for anyone who is looking for a piece of furniture to double up as a bed.

Love this ottoman, it arrived faster than expected. My boyfriend has slept on a few times with no problem, it has also become our cats favorite place to hang out on.
Sturdy, cozy. A bit small. Anyone taller than 510 and anyone with a wider girth may not be very comfortable. But this is beautiful and I have truly enjoyed it.

Thus item should be sold with 4 6 inch mattress. I consider it a very low mattress frame. I have ordered a mattress.
