    Tough kid, tougher bed

We have an very active, 130 lbs., pre-teen child with Autism who likes to jump into his bed (a lot). Zach has been the end of 3 highly rated metal frame beds in the last six month. Two we purchased on and were advertised as being strong in that they can handle a lot of weight. They are all now in the metal dumpster at our local recycling center. Most of those beds, it seems are designed for vertical weight and rather sedentary vertical weight at that. Zach's jumping into bed on his heavy foam (springs failed too) mattress puts lateral force that twists and bends the metal frames. Once they are bent, its only a matter of time to failures since the bent metal results in lost rigidity and eventfully falling apart. Of the last two attempts, one bed lasted only one week the other lasted 3 weeks. We joked Zach Bed Room Bed Frame Doom. Before we decided to go the mattress on the floor solution... we decided to take a long short on this wooden bed. My wife had her doubts, especially since it did not have a middle support feet and was a bit pricey. We also had had prior wood frame childhood beds for our other children that although were ok, they were not up to Zach level of tough. Result is we could not be happier with this bed. This is no ordinary wood bed. Honestly, it is (almost) over engineered for it strength. The wood is of high quality and the slats are very strong and plentiful. We suspect the accountants that try and cost reduce everything and sacrifice quality probably did not make the product planning meeting when this bed was conceived. They have built a very good bed from very good materials and they are charging a very, very fair price for it. Cost is over discussed and good value is under appreciated. This product is of the highest value for our family and we cannot endorse it enough for others with similar special needs challenges.

Kinda expected more for what I spent ... but it works well enough I guess.

The corners where the sides of the frame meet the head and foot of the frame are not flush. Some of the slats are warped enough to feel through a futon mattress I am currently using. The slats are not flush with the center beam. It seems sturdy enough, but the craftsmanship could have been better.

    Very good product

I bought a new foam mattress and needed a good bed frame to support it. I looked at several options on and bought this bed frame. It arrived in excellent condition. The box was not damaged, so the bed frame had no damage. The bed frame was easy to assemble and no pieces or parts were missing I was happy because recently, I have had to return products because of missing screws, etc. The bed frame is very sturdy and I am glad I purchased it.

    Looks great, but...

The exterior of this bed frame is gorgeous. I'm fairly sure it's just pine or another cheap wood stained a dark brown, but given wood prices nowadays, I honestly can't complain about it not being actual walnut. The problem I have with this bed frame is that the plywood supports running down the center were very poorly glued up. There are gaps in the wood and one of the legs for the center supports actually split down the middle when I tightened the bolt. Even then, I wasn't able to tighten the bolts on the legs all the way because the gap is much too wide for the center support beams. The legs slide out of place any time the bed moves. The slot in the frame for the beams to rest in is also significantly wider than the beams, which makes for a really creaky bed. I'm not really a woodworking snob or anything and I think I could've been okay with how this bed is built if not for the poor glue up and parts that don't fit right. I'll probably end up building my own supports and legs eventually, but it would have been nice to receive a product that didn't need extra work to function.

    Great customer service.

Product arrived in great time, unfortunately a sideboard was missing a metal bracket. Asked customer support by email to send replacement sideboard as we don't have a power drill to drill in just a bracket. Customer support reassured me it would be a whole sideboard replacement they will send, but when part arrived it was just the metal bracket and screws. Expressed to customer service my disappointment and asked for a full refund. They sent return shipping label right away and we sent everything back together. Refund was issued just a business day after we dropped off our return to ups. Customer service was above and beyond amazing, product was faulty and we did not keep. They are really responsive and will respond right away if you have any inquiries. 4 stars for customer support, minus one star for faulty product.

    Easy to assemble

Easy to assemble (no tools needed). I liked that it looked like what was pictured. The wood/color (walnut) is beautiful. The only negative is that I felt like the center piece moved around a bit, even after putting in the supporting legs pieces. And also, I wish the pieces would have aligned properly (see pics).
