We bought two of these beds for our kids as the younger one was transitioning out of his toddler bed. I dont think they were too difficult to assemble and the instructions seemed pretty clear, but we opened the first box, pulled out all the pieces, and decided to punt and pay someone else to assemble them. A guy we use for handyman work put them both together in a couple hours. Theyre very cute and we decorated them with sheer fabric for canopies and fairy lights to make them extra fun.
However, what I didnt give much thought to before buying them was how much more difficult it is to change the sheets and make the beds. You basically have to lift the mattress out to put the fitted sheet on and tucking in the top sheet and comforter is a PITA. When I am tucking the kids in or getting into and out of the beds with them, I keep bumping my head on the roof or the roof railings (theyre pretty low). And all those railings and that roof require dusting, which didnt occur to me when buying them, but of course they need to be dusted. Honestly, theyre a bit of a pain in the hindquarters, but the kids LOOOVE them so Ill be fine with the extra work for as long as theyre happy in these beds.
This bed is super cute and easy to assemble. My only issue is that the slats under the mattress are a little flimsy in my opinion. I might get a bunkie board to replace the slats as my daughter gets a little older (and heavier) to preserve her mattress a little better.
The trundle make some cracking noises the first time I got on it and Im under the weight limit. Im a bit nervous about that but I was able to sit with my daughter in the main bed and read to her with no issue. The wood doesnt seem very strong and some pieces show cracks but I can see past that.
We bought this particular version of a floor bed because in the pictures it looks like it has railings at the head and foot of the bed. If placed against a wall then three sides would have some prevention for the child rolling out. However, unless your mattress is about 3 thick it absolutely does nothing on the sides. If you look closely at the photo the mattress is basically a futon. The recommended 8 mattress is essentially flush with the bottom railing making it useless. Assembly was relatively easy. And the bed is attractive. In retrospect I would not have bought this version knowing the limitations.
I was super excited to buy this bed for my two sons, wait wasnt long. I am familiar with building , as i build pretty much everything i order. Now unfortunately as i get down to the last 50 thousand pieces of wood to the 2of2 HUGE boxes . THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS. Just a big bag of nails and things. Nothing. Now i wanted to try to go off the picture. Because Ive contacted not only the seller but and nothing yet. Im very disappointed. Not to mention the size of the bed is very misleading .
The sturdiness I gave 2 stars because the top section that goes into wooden pegs can easily come off because wooden pegs broke
And just held by screws so it wobbles. Some of the bolts it came with stripped after a couple turns and am in able to tighten now. I absolutely love the bed but for the price and me not being able to tighten and if I can go buy new parts it is not worth that amount.
We bought this bed for our son who just turned 2yrs old this week and he loves it so much! He loves climbing and bouncing all over it. Its well made and sturdy and we love that its low to the ground. There is a small gap between the frame and the twin mattress on one side but we just put a folded chunky knit blanket there to fill the gap. Overall this bed is adorable and fits his existing room aesthetic perfectly. I would definitely recommend you buy this!!
My 2 year old absolutely loves her bed! It had about a week timeframe window on when it would arrive and it arrived a day before the first estimated day. It was very easy to assemble and sturdy. Both my husband and I have laid in the bed with my daughter all at the same time (he is 220lb, I am 140, she is 32) and have had no issues.
The only downside is the footboard cracked when we screwed in one of the screws. It is still useable, still sturdy and does not interfere with the bed but for the money we spent, we were bummed. I messaged the company right and they fixed the issue. The customer service received was aming.
We transitioned our 15 month old to this big boy bed and hes been sleeping so much better. The frame is cute. I love how low it is to the ground so my son can freely get in and out. Shipping was faster than expected. Straight forward instructions. The only thing is theres about a 3 inch gap at the foot of the bed between the mattress and frame / but I put blankets in there so its fine.

Side rails only work with a thin mattress

Anybody else got a box of wood laying around?

Easy to build
10/10! Easy to build and very sturdy. My two year old loves it !fondle admiringly
Parts stripped and dinted and warped wood.
