Not satisfied with the duration of shipping

I ordered the bed on on the 7th, and it was delivered on the 13th. As a prime member I give a 1 star for letting me know it was going to be delivered in two and actually take more days for the delivery. I would give a product a 4 star for the quality at this price tag, here is the reason. It took me a couple of hours to put the bed together, and it looks solid. After a year, I will inspect the bed and update my rating. I would definitely recommend this product. I was very unhappy because I was sent the item WITHOUT instructions.

but not that easy to assemble

Solid piece of furniture, but not that easy to assemble. Comes in a long flat box that they recommend be moved by 2 people, ( if you are going up stairs). Lots of parts and screws. Also I recommend assembling in the room you want it in because it is large. Remember no mattresses are included. Not happy with the color.

    Good Beds, But

First and foremost, look at the price. Yes, you get what you pay for. This is a nice set. It is sturdy and the finish is as durable as it gets without being lacquer. But, you are taking your chances ordering this. Three of the pieces were defective. So we could not assemble the top bunk for about a week after we received this. Our son was disappointed that he had to sleep on his new mattress on the floor for a week, while our other son got to sleep in his big boy bed. One piece was split and cracked. The cracked piece was the sandwiched wood that I saw mentioned in another review. It was clear it split from temperature or moisture. It was not the same solid wood that all of the other pieces are made of. Two of the other pieces were damaged in manufacturing. It was clear they were damaged in a machine that they were fed into before being stained and finished. The company was nice enough and did send replacements. I dont like to give bad reviews for damage that is replaced, because we have a few high end special order pieces from Macys Furniture, and even one of the very expensive leather sofas came damaged. And Macys tried to not replace it, even though I tried to reject it on delivery. The days of getting a perfect furniture delivery are long gone for a good 15 / 20 years. This company gave us no problem getting the replacements. And once all together it is a good sturdy piece. I could get on the top bunk at 220+ lbs. Though it is a little light and started to tip over as I climbed up the small ladder. It is supposedly pine but I believe things labeled pine now a days are a lighter tropical wood and not true pine, which is heavier. The slats that hold the beds were very good quality hardwood and look like oak. These are strong enough to hold anyone on these beds. The finish is very, very durable. The unassembled pieces were in the kids room on the floor for a week and I heard them get banged around more than once, without getting damaged. If you order this, expect there to be damaged pieces and expect to wait another week before putting it all together. The kids will be disappointed if they are looking forward to getting their new bed. So be warned, it is likely to be delivered with damage, which requires you to go through the company return process. It took about 30 mins to put the bottom bunk together and another 45/50 minutes to put the top together. You will want to have a good drill handy to drill the slats that hold the beds and to drill the support that runs on the outside of the top bunk/both of these use wood screws with no predrilled holes. Once all together it is a very nice bed for kids. Just expect there to be damaged pieces. It is a waste for the company that makes these to do it this way. But, if this set came 100 perfect 100 of the time, it would cost more than double this price. Even with the hassle and delay, it is still well worth this price. Absolutely horrible customer service.

    Nice bed for the price

I like the look of the bed, and feel like it was a fair buy for the priceone of the pieces came damaged and now I have the hassle of trying to get a replacement piece. Guess that is one of the hards of buying online. The bed went together fairly well, I was disappointed in the slats being such rough wood. It would look much cleaner and also be safer for kids with nicely painted white wood slats. Overall its ok, it looks beautiful, and feels fairly sturdy. Other than that, its a great product!

Pretty good quality but not too sturdy if the kids are older. Considering returning

You Get What You Pay For

Bought this 15 months ago for our boys (3 6). The good: / easy assembly / easy to switch to bunk or single / color accurate as depicted in image / room for another mattress to store under the beds The Bad: / mattress falls between slats and gets stuck / wobbly on top bunk / attached runners cracked after 15 months and my 5 year old is now back on a mattress on the floor. it was me (105lbs) on the bed when it happened not him.

    Bad product

The long boards that hold up the mattress are falling off. They are too short witch can cause a saftey risk for my children. not just look at it

    Do not order this!!

I ordered this because the picture matched our furniture perfectly. When we recieved it it was cherry wood not espresso. I notified immediately and sent them photos to confirm my complaint. I was told to ship the 100lbs box back to Utah at my expense minus a 55.00 restocking fee. In other words it would cost us more to return then we had paid. Dont believe the return policy. By the way it is also one narrow box and would take someone very handy at least three hours to assemble. The proffessional we had assemble our new bunkbeds looked at the box now sitting in our living room and said he would not attempt it if he was paid to do it. Dont buy this product
