after making an extensive spreadsheet of grey upholstered beds i decided on the dark grey linen one from mr kate. although I wanted a velvet one, I settled for linen because of the color options. The bed is worth the price especially with delivery. Between two people the bed took 2 hours to put together, with an intermission. Put 1 piece on backwards but was an easy fix once I realized. Warning-Don't stand on the bed for longer than a few seconds or you WILL crack one of the slats..............otherwise it's a sturdy, firm, platform bed that is cute and matches all my stuff! My queen memory foam bed fits great on it.
My photos have a 12-in king mattress. Was delivered in two boxes that were easy to handle on my own (carried up stairs by myself). Assembled by myself as well, very easily. Very impressed by the sturdiness of the construction and bed once assembled. The fabric is very soft and looks really nice. However as other reviews have said the colors are misleading I ordered the light gray and even though I am pleased with it, if you're really looking for the coloration that shows in the listing it is more of a true gray. Also as many others have mentioned the headboard tufts are spaced further apart than the listing shows, to me it adds a more luxurious feel but if you're trying to go for that deco look you may not be pleased. I love my frame!
We ordered the full size light gray velvet bed for our daughter's bedroom. Our box was so wet from the rain but nothing was damaged.
The bed is not as light as the photo shows. And the tufted lines are more spaced out as well. But I did appreciate how everything was packaged, even including extra parts. Overall, the bed is easy to put together, decently priced, and although it doesnt exactly match the photo description, it is still very soft and looks so nice!
I was overwhelmed when I saw how many pieces were in the boxes. Yes, 2 boxes (one for the daybed, and one for the trundle). Once I got all the pieces laid out, and followed the instructions, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to assemble. The pic on makes it look like a cream color (or off-white), but it's bright white. Tip: Assemble in the room you are putting it in.
It looks really good, but hasn't gotten any use yet so I'll update after it gets used. I put it together by myself and it was pretty easy, although there was a little swearing involved with a couple of the steps. Those steps, like attaching the back to the base frame, would have been easier with two people. But I did get it done by myself and it's solid. Trundle rolls really easy, but it's not on a guided track so you might have to monkey it a bit too get it back under the daybed. I bought two 8 inch twin mattresses and they fit. I do have to keep the door to that room closed because the cat thinks that the space between the trundle and the bottom of the daybed is the perfect space to lie in wait to surprise the dog.
When this bed arrived, our UPS guy said, That's no cheap piece of furniture. I can tell by the weight!. He wasn't kidding! It is very heavy!
My Dad put it together for my son with almost no trouble. I believe he did use a couple of his own tools, however. Minimal cussing
We have a little guy but he dives into bed every night, testing it's durability. So far, so good!
Love this product! It's absolutely worth the little bit of extra money because of the quality.
I bought it for my daughter so when I visit I don't have to sleep on an air mattress. She said it is very nice and I will try it out on August for my visit.
