The table came in a damaged and torn up box but was perfect when I opened it up. The second box containing the base was in perfect condition but the base to the table was cracked in several places. I am attempting to contact the company to get a replacement. I like the solid wood aspect and the table itself is sturdy and easy to assemble. (Chairs need to be purchased separately.)
Very pleased with this table carefully packaged and heavy solid wood easy to assemble need two people to flipped it. I recommend this product very polite delivery personnel accommodated a redelivery date. Thanks totally satisfied Mrs. Roper BX NY
Im very happy with the overall look of the table and that it was very easy to assemble. What Im not so convinced with is that the edges, where the table top and the butterfly leaf meet, are somewhat beveled and therefor noticeably show that there is a leaf. I would have liked a smoother table top finish. Its not a game changer, just a detail. Otherwise I would have given it five stars.
The description says the table is real wood and it looks like real wood but ..I dont think so. It is a little soft around the screws and the wood look is a little too perfect and the finish is very very thick, almost like a coating of plastic on top...little too thick. I wish someone would slice a part open and tell if it is real wood or not, but it wont be me, sorry. It is attractive and works for now, but I am concerned if it will hold up over time.
UPDATE: as of April 2019 the table is holding up well. It serves the purpose perfectly, expands and reduces size perfectly well, is attractive and there are no functional problems.
We love the look of the table, and the cherry top is a great color. The base is also very stable. However, the reason Im downgrading to 3 stars is because the leaf doesnt fit correctly when extended. The track that the leaf glides along is cut too high, and as a result, the pegs dont line up with the holes along the sides of the table leaves when we try to use it. Otherwise, table works fine if the leaf is not extended.
Nice hard wood table. It looks beautiful as a round table and seats 4. With the leaf in, it easily seats 6. The finish is beautiful, and the size of the table fits so nicely between my kitchen and family room.
This is a good and sturdy table and I paid an exert assembler who did a good job. It came ontime with a window of delivery on a given day and the assembly went well. I am very happy with this table so far. I havent tried to open by myself. I think it would take a person on each end, pulling, but I am keeping it small for everyday use and will pull up the butterfly expansion and extend it to seat six people for Thanksgiving. Meantime, its very nice table for me alone or for two or three people when kept at its small size.
My roommate and I just finished assembling this table. As others have written, it is beautiful, very well made, sturdy and heavy with the feature of underneath leaf storage if you desire to use it - we will be using the leaves always.
BUT...I sharply disagree with the comments that is easy to assemble. You can assemble it for sure although for a bit over $100 offers an assemblage service but it takes some time care. The manufacturer supplies the screws, wrenches, washers, etc. you must have in a small packet..dont lose them. LOOK FOR THE 1-SHEET DIRECTIONS...youll need it and it was missing from our order; I called the mfgr who promptly e-mailed it to me plus I found it on the Internet.
THIS IS IMPORTANT...the directions are NOT sufficiently explanatory. It is not easy to figure out how to take out the leaves assuming that you desire to-you have to figure it out but eventually you will. Just as important, if you assembling it with the leaves you will find it necessary to jiggle the leaves to get the built-in attachment screws to fit in the corresponding holes in the panels. The trick is NOT to try to jam or push hard..it wont work..you have to LIFT the black rectangle on the underside a TINY amount..in other words you cant jiggle from side to side, you must jiggle a tiny amount UP AND DOWN..that will get the screws of the leaves into the panel holes. So no, the assembly is not a piece of cake but it is doable (took us about l-2 hours total; were not all that adept at this stuff) and once completed youll have a beautiful and sturdy well-made piece of dining room furniture.

Love it! It looks more expensive than it is
Love it! It looks more expensive than it is. I get complements on it all the time. Sturdy and love that the leaf fits in the table for easy storage.
Attractive but concerned... UPDATED

Loving it.
Love the color combination. A good, tight little table.
