This was the perfect surprise big girl bed for our 3.5 year old. She wouldnt leave her toom for the whole first weekend.
Good: Price point was good, considering a lot of burning normal twin bed frames are priced similarly. Delivered quickly, is as described, looks pretty, and is as sturdy as promised.
Cons: There is a big gap at the foot or head of the bed from the last slat to the frame, that would be fine if a standard twin fit the space exactly...but a standard twin fits short...so you need to fill it with a thick blanket oe body pillow. Thats what we did using a cute body pillow from (not pictured). You will want thay pillow at the head of the bed, so thay kiddo doesnt accidentally hit head on window edge. Prob not an issue with older kids, but wirh 3.5 year olds a concern. If you are a perfectionist, you will struggle with a fee places the boards dont match up precisely flush or a gap between boards may be a smidge off from the next.... but nothing noticable.
As for ease of assembly...my husband is relatively good at these things...so I cant say its easy for everyone..but he had no problems.
This is beautiful bed !!! My daughter loved it !! It did come in a billion pieces lol but my husband and I had no problem building it . Instructions were very clear.
My 3 year old is in very imaginary phase. When she saw this bed, she immediately wanted to sleep on it and pretend to play with her forest animals.
Tip:
The mattress is a little high, so I use a body pillow as a barrier to prevent her from falling off the bed.
The colors of the bed arent consistent. Looks like they forgot to stain some of the parts or chose different colors. Also the instructions were a little off when I was building the window sides - the letters were mixed up.
The stairs are screwed on the bed, but they dont have a tight fit. I dont see a harm with it, but wasnt what I was expecting.
Lastly, not every piece aligns, which means there are spaces on the roof part.
You definitely need two people to built this bed! And I recommend have at least two of the tools they ask you to use, so two people can work on it at the same time.
Other than all of the above, your kids will love it!
Solid wood no partical board. Easy to assemble would advise having a spotter for the beams attaching the end frames. I used an impact drill for assembly wouldnt recommend using the little Allen wrench provided, at least use a ratchet screw driver or itll take awhile. About an hour and a half to assemble. My daughter is hype and I dont even have the mattress in yet. Would highly recommend
This bed is adorable. It is very sturdy and my picky daughter loves it. It has enough space underneath for some storage. The only drawbacks I have are: it is longer than the twin mattress we bought specifically for the bed. There is a gap at the foot that we stuffed pillows it. It is large enough that our daughter could fall through it if she were walking on the bed. It also took quite awhile for assembly. I would recommend it, but I wish they would have specified that it doesnt take a traditional twin mattress.
My 4yo son loves loves loves his new house bed! I love the height of it. Lots of room under for all his bigger cars/trucks. Very easy to assemble, but it does require 2 people. It took me and my dad around 2.5 hours to build. Instructions were easy to follow, nothing missing, everything labeled. My only negative remark would be the attachment of the little ladder to the bed. Its not as secure as Id like and so my son bent it on day 1 trying to move it (thinking he could move it.) No big deal, easy fix. I recommend this for sure!
