I read a lot of reviews for this model and its predecessor the 3i. I decided to shell out the extra for the massage feature and the charging ports, but if thats not your thing, the 3i is cheaper and Im sure just as good. This was our first adjustable bed frame, paired with a new Tempurpedic hybrid medium mattress. Heres my take:
Delivery and setup: came on a pallet and delivered to our front door. Its pretty heavy, but manageable. My 24 year old son and husband got it in and in the bedroom without too much trouble. Would be very difficult for one man unless youre a weightlifter. When you open it up, it seems very intimidating but its misleading. We basically screwed the legs on, uncoiled the electric cord, and turned it over. Then you snip off the rest of the ties underneath (which protect the electric components.) I was surprised at the ease.
Mattress height: We figured that wed use all the leg height, since there was no box spring and the cats hide from the dogs under the bed. Mistake. When we put the mattress on, we realized it was pretty high (my husband commented that with the adjustable base it reminded him of a hospital bed). Well have to take the mattress off I think to shorted the legs by taking off the 2 and 3 extenders. We were too tired by that time.
Features. LOVE. OMG, LOVE. Didnt think Id really enjoy the massage feature, but its pretty strong, and adjustable. You can adjust both the head volume (for lack of a better word) and the feet. Different types of massage as well, which I didnt expect. The remote worked perfectly from the start. The raising and lowering of both head and feet are silent and smooth. Tried the snore setting on our first night for my husband. It didnt totally stop the snoring, but it wasnt as loud at all so I think it helps. Ive never liked to read or watch TV in bed because it just wasnt comfortable, but that will change now (although Im not going to let my bedroom become another TV room, I dont think its good for your sleep).
What else? Still getting used to the new mattress, but I am really liking it. Works well with the adjustable base. Ill update this review if anything goes horribly wrong, but right now, Im very pleased!!!
I received this item in about 5-6 weeks. The mattress I purchased showed up in about 8 days....so I was delayed in setting my bed up. First thing you need to know is that you will need at least two people to move, unpackage and assemble. It weighs a lot and you can damage the bed base and injure yourself without the extra help. Once assembled the adjustable bed base was a real blessing. I can adjust the bed base to suit me or I can use the pre-sets already installed in the remote control. Themassagefeature is a toss in that I really didnt expect much but, I actually enjoy the vibration on my spinal cord/vertebrae. It has a soothing affect. The two USB ports are very handy(one on each side). All in all it is all I hoped it to be. You can pay more and get less. I highly recommend this adjustable bed base.
A great adjustable bed at a very reasonable price.
Slightly concerned about the power/ longevity of the motors for it slows slightly at the end of its reach with my heavier mattress on the bed.
However, one could accomplish a lot of the same result with some wedges between the old box spring and my mattress
But would buy the frame again!
This bed was fairly easy to set up, but requires two people. Motor is quiet and works well. Comfort slightly less than hoped for. Keep in mind thats a result of the combination of mattress and base. The one thing this really needs is better ability to keep mattresz on the base and from shifting.
Legs are not stable. They barely screw in. If you try to extend legs to full height, you get a very wobbly bed.
USB ports are under bed, not convenient. They also dont work.
I have yet to get bed to full range of motion advertised. The zero gravity is not zero gravity.
Very disappointed.
Seems like a good bed. Very happy so far. Appears to be well designed and constructed so Im hopeful it will stand the test of time. Delivery was very late.
Bed is nice and as described. Definitely need 2 to move and assemble due to weight of product. Purchased for comfort and TV viewing. Does what it is supposed to do.
Why didnt I do this before? More features and cost was less than half of what Sleepnumber wanted! I have a 4 yr old SleepNumber Queen mattress, and this is just what it needed! Fit right inside my existing wood bedframe from Ikea. Will lay completely flat, if needed. I removed the slatted box previously used to set mattress on, put the included legs on, perfect! Adjustability, under bed light, massage, Wow! The only thing I dont like is where the USB ports are located, as when you use the Lounge setting, or have the upper part lifeted high, my charging cords do not reach, yanked my phone to the floor. Ill look into possibly moving those or get longer cords. It even arrived much sooner than was expected, during a snowstorm! I highly recommend this for pain relief, better sleeping (no more lounge chair sleeping!) In the pics the mattress isnt on the platform until someone is in it. Just wanted to show that it fits in a regulare bed frame. I truly love my bed even more! Thank you!

Bought for our folks when our Dad came home on hospice

Legs are inferior and wobbly

Good bed but late delivery.

It only adjusts to like a V position
Dont believe the image of the bed frame it does not adjust like the picture shows. It only goes into a V position
Comfortable with many features.
