I love everything about these chairs (I bought 2)! They are so sturdy but comfortable at the same time because theyre oversized as the description says. But not too oversized, just right. The chair seat depth is important to me and this chair is one you can sit back in and not feel youre spilling out.. I love a good sized rocker and this is it! Super easy to put together, and I got the darker brown which looks just like wood. Im thinking these rockers will last a long time!!
Generally pleased with this chair. Solid construction. Easy assembly (provided you install all bolts only 1/4 inch initially).
Almost perfect. However, one flaw I found very annoying. The chair walks sideways as it rocks (on the order of 2 inches in 100 rocks). Laying a straight edge across the rockers, I found the outside edge of one rocker was 1-2 mm higher than the inside edge of the other rocker.
After fabricating a sanding jig to span the rockers, I was eventually able to get the bottom of the rockers parallel with the floor. This virtually eliminated the lateral walking. I contacted the vendor to report the issue, but received no reply.
The chair back length is 31.5 inches, which provides good head support. I personally find the chair somewhat uncomfortable without a cushion. Fortunately, the Poaeng Chair cushion ($39) fits almost perfectly.
UPDATE: Initially, I thought sanding the rockers had corrected the walking. However, the problem continued to get worse. Very odd, considering I rock slowly and gently.
I searched the internet; none of the suggested problems/solutions were applicable/worked. I purchased a contour gauge to confirm that the rockers had the same profile. I tried different rooms (viz., different floors); no change. I tried different mats/rugs; that only changed the direction of the walking. I even put tread tape on the rockers to increase friction; that only caused the chair to walk backwards as well as sideways.
I GIVE UP! Perhaps my chair is defective. I only know that I have spent many hours in other rocking chairs and never experienced such walking. This chair constantly walks into other furniture and/or the wall.
I purchased a rocking chair for relaxation. This chair has proved to be only frustration. Complete waste of money and time.
