The pads are hard. If you are having knee problems you may want to put a softer pad on top of the rubber pad they have attached. Also, there is a new rubber smell to the bench.
Very happy with the kneeler and seat. Just need to take care when using the handles of the kneeler that you dont lean forward as you get up. I dont think the pockets are very functional and would most probably get lost in a few days of use.
I liked the face that the garden bench could be used two ways - sitting or kneeling. What I didnt like is it is very difficult to move the release rods that make the bench fold up.
This was a gift for my 80 year old mom and she loves it. The only negative thing i can say is that the pad is very stiff and not comfortable. She is using another pad over the one on the seater

I just used it today for the first time. I thought it was going to be too high but found it worked very well. I like the tool holder very much.
