There were a few little chips in this but for the effort to put together and price, couldnt send it back. Functional for my 7 yr old, super cute design
I would say better for ages 35 maybe 6 if your kid is smaller. Our 7 year old is smaller but this is even small for him. It was hard for one person to put together. Also better to you an electric drill not what they gave you. Instructions are hard with the pictures they give you. Wasnt easy for me to put together, I needed to ask my husband for him to let me know if he agreed with which way items go.
This desk is bigger than I thought! I looked at some other review pics to see if it would be small for my 5 year old (who is big for her age) and was worried she wold hardly fit it. This is a great desk for k2nd grade maybe. Great quality, easy to build, came in great shape. If you can snag one, do it!
My husband had a hell of a time putting this together! It smelled so bad when we first got it I was nervous to keep it In her Room because of the fumes it was giving off, we kept in the garage for about two weeks so the smell would go away, I wanted to take it back but it was such a pain to put together I couldnt imagine taking it apart, the desk is ok it works for what its supposed to do, my daughter has already Ruined the top coloring marker went through the paper and I cant get it off the desk.
Assembly time:1 hour
This is comparable to IKEA in quality and construction. Assembly is similar to IKEA, however, there are a couple issues. The side cabinets and door latches slowed me down. The ss that hold the middle shelf between the cabinets are not pointy and you have to insert them blind. I found that sing them into and back out of the shelf beforehand widened the holes enough to get the ss started when assembling. Also keep the other ss loose until you get the top cross support in. (the top back piece above your kids knees.) Finally, the door latches connect together through the middle cabinet shelf. (It doesnt show this in the instructions.)

Cute for age 35, not as sturdy as I was hoping for.

Kidcraft desk
When the desk arrived it had many pieces damaged. Not to the point of not being able to use it but lots of flaws.
