    Its great, BUT

I would have easily given this 5 stars if I didnt have to zip tie several of the panels together. The parts that hook them together were very loose, and my ferrets managed to push the panels apart and escape! So while I like how sturdy and tall this is, I wish I could be confident that my little fluff noodles will be secure. Not sure if I just received a faulty pen or if this is a common issue, but I do wish I would have noticed it beforehand so I could return/replace it.

    i love

i have this up as a baby gate for my ferrets. it is 100% the only thing that was ferret proof for me. the more you tell them no the more they want through, but they dont even bother trying to get past this gate. its apartment friendly too, i used zip ties and command strips to place it.

    Wonderful playpen!

Exactly as I expected! Simple to set up and the canvas bottom that I bought extra fits perfect!

    Perfect

I love it! When I put it in a circle my ferrets cant get out of it at all!!! Although they do try. When I have it open and against the wall I just put something heavy on the other side so they cant push it open but I love it!

    Ok for chinchilla

This is great for what it is, so it earned 5 stars. That being said, in our experience it is good for a chinchilla but not great. Pros: cant fit through the bars (and boy has he tried), it comes already constructed and is super easy to set up and break down, and for us it is spacious enough for our one chinchilla and two adults to comfortably sit in with him. Cons: after about a month our chinchilla has learned how to jump out. If there is anything on the floor he will use it as a launching platform to jump out. He also is able to jump over it with no support, by jumping onto the edge and hoisting over. Our makeshift solution is to duct tape cardboard to the top of the panels (see photo) to increase the height, though this isnt a long term solution. Also, as most chinchillas he wall surfs and we were concerned about him getting his legs stuck in the bars so we also used cardboard for that. Lastly, he loves to bite the bars and drag the fence around, probably because he thinks he can get out that way, but its pretty obnoxious. If I could magically make a solution for this I think the simplest thing would be to add metal panels (or some non-chewable material, across the whole fence ideally, since seeing the outside world I think makes him more curious and antsy) and so chinchillas can safely bounce off the wall. And of course another foot in height would probably help keep him in. But this is one of the best ones I have found that has enough area and small bars and it still works with the above modifications.

    Good for ferrets

I love how fast and easy this was to put together. I have a ferret that no matter what he will figure a way out and escape. What I like about this the bars are perfectly spaced apart so he cant climb it. And its a good weight that he cant lift it up. I have gotten so much play pens and baby gates that didnt work this by far has been the only thing that kept him out of the laundry room.

    Great pen for chinchillas

Bought three of these pens to provide ample space for my chinchillas to roam. The only only downside is that I was it was a couple inches taller as one of my chinchillas was able to jump over it. Although, if it was much taller it would be challenging to step over it.
