I had this and another rocking chair on my list for what seemed like forever. I had been looking for a rocking chairs for over a year and all I could find were spindly grandma style chairs. Nope wouldnt do.
These chairs were going to the living room for the wife and I in lieu of a couch.
So the very good
.. The chairs are a beast. You can sit legs up, slouch to the left and right, one foot on the seat and rock like you mean it. I ran carpentry shops and I can tell you .. if the house fell I would want to be under these chairs. They are made of 2x4 and held together with carriage bolts and nuts. The provided instructions are a breeze to follow. Ya cant mess it up. All the holes are drilled perfectly.
The chairs are especially roomy. Its hard to tell from the measurements given on other reviews and pix without people dont help. While I am not the largest guy ever at 185 lbs I can tell you .. you are not locked into a single position like most other rocking chairs. The wife and I have been in them for hours watching movies on a Sunday. The beauty is you can shuffle around.
They are pine so while some will scoff .. the nice part is, if you get the unfinished as I did .. Pine will drink stain and has a nice figure when stained. Mine were stained with Minwax true black and they look amazing.
The not so great ..
I wont call them cons since I dont think they rise to that level and perhaps they did it for a reason .. the list is small.
I bought the unfinished because I had a particular look I was going for to go along with a little sprucing of the living room. Unfinished did indeed mean unfinished. Wherever a cut is made the edge is left as if it just came off the saw. Depending how particular you are or what look you are going for .. have some sandpaper on hand if you get the unfinished chair. The inside curves of the legs, the ends of the arm rests and even the ends of all the slats is ROUGH. For outdoor furniture which I think it was designed for .. maybe it doesnt matter but if you are looking for indoor furniture and want a bit more refinement. Get ready to sand. Its pine which is soft so sands easily but .. its a review .. you should know.
Second not so great .. Torx head screws!! Here is one of those WHAT WERE THEY THINKING. The arm rest was loose and would move. Came out of the box that way on both chairs. Not a big deal .. just need to snug up those 4 screws per armrest ... Take a look and .. its torx. Now I happen to be a DIY kind of guy so I happen to have a couple of sets around but .. I am pretty sure torx bits are not something in every household. They should have just gone with Phillips. I live in AZ and the amount wood moves between seasons is amazing. Add to that .. its a rocking chair .. and things may periodically need a little snugging. if they are going to assemble with Torx they should include at least a little key like that dreaded stuff.
So not so bad Bads. EXTREMELY happy with the purchase and would recommend them without reservation The price seemed very fair in comparison to other chairs I had looked at and I scoured the net..
So .. roomy, well built, Good Looking and easy to assemble with very durable pieces Just remember to have a bit of sandpaper on hand and some torx bits.
I gave it the 3 stars because it is pretty comfortable to sit in. It was super easy to put together and seems sturdy. However it is not easy to rock. It goes forward fine and comes back to straight up and down, but there is like a flat part on the rocker that makes it very difficult to rock backwards. It justs makes the whole rocking experience odd and does not flow well.

Large enough for a big person
I bought this for my disabled daughter. She loves it. Another daughter and I assembled it with no problem.
Does not rock well!
