The locking system has a ring around the touch sensor pad and combo assess plate. So the ring needs to be moved to unlocked before the door handle will open. My feeling is it is a little cumbersome but the value is the safe. The lock box inside is sweet for both my handguns. The shelf holds quite a few boxes of ammo depending where you set the shelf height inside. I am very impressed. Very stylish and great quality!
Overall i have a good impression, couple things i would probably change, allow to create shelf at the bottom, also sensor not always recognize fingerprint, otherwise Im satisfied! SO happy!

If you know what you are getting, then I think this cabinet is a good value. THIS IS NOT A SAFE. IT IS NOT FIREPROOF OR FIRE RESISTANT AND IT WILL NOT WITHSTAND ATTEMPTS TO BREAK INTO IT. The metal is fairly thin and it probably isnt any more durable or secure than a high/school locker. Right now I just need to keep out an infant and a toddler, so this will work perfectly. If, on the other hand, you had a teenager, who was intent on getting in, it would be a definite NO! I think any number of tools would be sufficient to gain access, including a disc grinder or a circular saw. I would not rule out being able to gain entry with a simple pry bar.
The cabinet doesnt sit flat, and tends to rock a bit. Once it is secured to the wall or floor, it wasnt an issue, but left freestanding, it would remain problematic. The interior lock box and rack for long guns are both cheaply made, but function well. The interior is large enough to accommodate most long guns with room to spare.
The locks.are annoying. If you do not set the biometric scanner, then any fingerprint will open the cabinet. It seems to me it would have been better for the default to be nothing opens the cabinet, rather than everything. The code and fingerprint are easy to setup. I was excited about the alarm that sounds if you enter an incorrect code three times. It is a great feature, so long as you are standing next to the cabinet when someone is trying to gain unauthorized access.otherwise you wont hear it, probably not even from across the room. Do not rely on that alarm at all.
All things considered, this cabinet will work for me for the time being. However, it is by no means a secure option against the average person, or even teenager. Small children are the only ones that will be kept out by this cabinet.
This is a very sturdy safe, the door was a bit hard to close, but once bolted on the wall and floor, the door open and close freely. The biometrics is very easy to use, adding multiple fingerprints was easy to do.
There is only 2 things that makes me give only 4.5 stars, 1./ no illuminated keypad, 2./ Finger print scanner takes too long to scan.
Additionally, there is an email in the documentation that offers you a free door organizer, which is really great. Perfect in every way.
