I love this bed, but more importantly my son adores it. I was looking for an affordable but imaginative solution for his transition from the crib/toddler bed and this seemed like a good option.
I assembled it myself (5’7” middle aged woman). It took me about 1.7 hrs in total, but I did have to spread it over several days because the heads of several screws did strip as I was going along. It was a weekend, the stores were closed and I found out that some of the screws are of an unusual size (parts of an inch different than standard), so they were harder to find and I had little time to drive around shopping. I used an automatic screwdriver and would not do it again any other way (although it was probably the reason why the screws stripped).
It’s lightweight but not flimsy. The mattress I purchased is on the floorboards (no springbox or anything). There is a 2-3 inch gab between the bed and the mattress but I welcome it because it makes for a better bedding fit.
All items that are now a part of my son’s bed were purchased - chiffon fabric on the roof, the curtains, ghost string lights, mattress and bedding (except the comforter). The biggest expense was the mattress- $200. The rest sums up to about $75.
My son is three and he SCREAMED with joy when he saw it. He hides in it all day long and takes big leaps to jump on it. We have long reading sessions, snuggled.
We are both very happy with this choice.
Bought this for my daughter who is transitioning to her own room and she loves this bed. It was very quick to put together, but it’s not as sturdy as I would have expected which is fine since my daughter is only 26 pounds. But a larger child, it might be too flimsy. Overall, we were able to add supports and it should last her years
Many of the pieces were too short and if it weren’t for super long nails I would not have been able to put this bed together. Because i already had this replaced one, i just said forget it, and went with it. The instructions are difficult to understand and half my pieces weren't marked. I pray my son doesn't get hurt
It took a really long time to be together and then it always seemed a little scary to even make the bed because I didn’t want to lean any of my weight on it. Today my kid that weighs 25 pounds probably broke the bed frame The mattress is now sinking because the core support on the outside is broken
It’s pretty sturdy as long as it’s against a wall, better in a corner of a wall if you have kids that flip around in their sleep! It was not easy to assemble in the sense that the holes almost needed drilled a little more so it took my husband and I both to tighten the last few together. I put 90% of the bed together myself so it’s not difficult but you’ll definitely have sore hands from tightening the screws. Honestly couldn’t be happier with this purchase, my son is much happier in his big boy bed than a crib and it’s super cute and great for a boy or girl! This was the cheapest option with the best Reviews for what I was looking for for my 20 month old!
His room is a mess but he went from sleeping in bed with us every night to sleeping in his own bed every night! Love it and totally worth all the money, easy to assemble!
Got this for my 2 yr old and it’s the perfect bed she can grow into but still use as a little one without hurting herself if she rolls out. Best value for money I could find for this type of bed on the market and looks super cute/adds something to the room. No bed frame needed. 10/10 would recommend
