Bed was greatI assembled myself in about 4.5. dont overtighten until the very end. I had to trace back a bunch for tightening and having to loosen for future steps, so wish they were more clean. My daughter loves it. Would buy again!
It is shorter than I expected it to be. I was hoping my 5 yr old daughter and I could sit underneath it in bean bag chairs or something but its too short
Great end result but do yourself a favor and read ahead of the directions save yourself some hassle by assembling a few of the pieces in a slightly different order.
While it was very extensive to put together and took quite a while, it was still easy to put together. The stairs are much stronger than I thought they would be, and the height of the bed is perfect. We really love it, and so does my 5 year old!
Note: Im not really using this bed as directed, so probably dont do as Im doing, but Im letting everyone know its possible (i.e. dont do this with small children, Im an adult and accept the dangers of removing the side railing of the bed). This is a really good bed for someone tight on space. I recently moved into a really small room and needed storage options, while simultaneously owning an elderly cat that cant make the jump up to a mid/loft bed//insert this Jr. loftThe steps are PERFECT and help my cat get up onto the bed, and theres lots of storage room underneath. Im a 5 and 120 lb person, and this bed seems very sturdy to me (and even my boyfriend who is 5 11 and 150 lbs, though weve never sat on the bed at the same time for obvious weight limit reasons). My mattress is much taller than recommended for the bed, and I have a 3 foam pad on top of that, so the mattress very easily cleared the side railing. For this reason, I didnt assemble the bed with the railing and am easily able to slide myself off the side without much problem. Ive noticed very little change in regards to stability with the bed without this side railing. Again, if youve got a small kid in this bed, keep the railing for their safety; Im just a small adult and know how to not fall off. Took a good 3 hours to assemble, but the parts were packaged and organized very well and it was a relatively painless process.
I was in the market for a loft bed and I picked this one over the others due to the stairs over the ladder. I have both a 4yo and a 20m old, both who would be on the bed all the time playing, the stairs were a much better option. I was sure to read all prior reviews before buying, and felt good with my purchase.
The box it arrived in was very long, and also VERY heavy. I unpacked everything, and was amed at the amount of parts. There is also a book that is the instruction, but in actuality, its about 35 steps. If you have a hex screwdriver, I recommend using it. The little hex wrench that was included did a number on my hands. I also HIGHLY recommend 2 people. I did it myself but really needed the extra hands at time. Also, when assembling, do not tighten the bolts. Most times I had to go back and loosen stuff to get things together. The frame was a quick install, and the steps took a lot longer. All total, took me close to 5hrs to build it.
Overall the bed is sturdy. I had a few hiccups with the build itself, but managed to get it all together with some profanity thrown in. There were 2 pieces that had damage to them, but I was able to put them on the inside and did not have any issues, though I was kinda disappointing there was damage to it. This is why I gave it a 4 star rating.
I bought this for my 3yr old, I had order it from walmart. It took me 2 days to put it together, really wasnt hard but its a lot of screwing and tightening, the hardest part for me was the stairs. The door is not fully on but I might eventually take it off and place her stuffed animals in there as a cubby. I did purchase the curtain set to go with it from and let me tell you when everything was finished and I showed it to her, she was so excited and happy, she called it her castle.
Bought this for our new home when we moved so my daughter could have a place to go underneath instead of the bed just taking up that whole section of room. We have her little bookshelf underneath and we go under there to read her stories at night before bed.
It is incredibly sturdy and well put together. I built it by myself while my wife built OUR new bed in the master bedroom. Well, not by myself, because my daughter helped a ton. )
Even with my daughters help it did take quite awhile. I did need my wife a couple of times when I had to pull two pieces together to fit them but with two people I think that the whole thing would go rather quickly. ALMOST doable by yourself.
Some of the holes were just a little bit off making it very hard to put together. Some of the welds are already popping but not anywhere critical and it is being used by an incredibly calm, slow/moving 40lb 6yo.

Kid and parents approved!

The build is terrible, but great bed!

Low enough for a toddler
