I was pleased with how well constructed this bunk bed is as I assembled it. It took a bit longer than the directions suggested to complete but then again I am in my seventies and most things take me longer to complete anymore. The directions were detailed and not too difficult. My granddaughters loved the finished product.
The bed assembly was not too hard. Did it myself and only needed help when lifting the upper bed in position. The wood quality is pristine. Packaging was enough to protect the wood. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a double bed. The kids are happy. The odor is taking awhile to go away but it is common for furniture to give that smell.
I just opened the box to find cracks, nicks, chips, and dents all over the first handful of pieces. One or two I can live with, but there are so many here it would require a full paint job to cover. There are several knots in the wood that are popping through, as well as very poor patch jobs. Id avoid this product.
Purchased this bunk for my two youngest daughters, ages 7 and 8. It took a full night to assemble, you cannot do it alone, will need another hand. Start with organizing and separating all of the pieces into groups and once you do step 1 its pretty easy from there. I will say some screws were hard to put in. You will need a drill for the stairs part I believe there were supposed to be holes at the top to insert the screws, but we had to create two.
Otherwise, great bed. My kids love it!
I mean, its a cost/effective desk/bunk bed. It does exactly what I thought it would for the price, but there are a couple of things that may be a deal breaker for you:
/ Its a little wobbly. I used washers at all the bolt holes, which helped to stabilize the connections a bit by providing a larger surface area to compress. Kids dont mind the wobble, but I do worry that were going to end up with things falling off the desk area.
/ The ladder is terrible. Ok for kids, but the rungs are just too narrow (and painful) for us adults to climb. Probably going to make some quick little wooden treads to put on each rung, as I suspect everyone will benefit.
Im a 180lb college student in a tiny apartment and wanted a loft bed to make the most of the space. Im also on a limited budget, so I was reluctant to purchase a seemingly flimsy metal loft bed that looks like its for kids. I read tons of reviews for different products, but ultimately decided to give this one a shot. Im glad I did. The base product is good and holds my weight fine. However, it is absolutely necessary to mount this bed (and others like it I imagine) to the wall using some sort of metal bracket. I went to a nearby hardware store and got crafty with it. You can drill extra holes into the metal and the screws bit just fine. Just make sure not to over tighten or theyll strip. The bed is very wobbly on its own, but one mounted to the wall in just 3 spots it really is suprisingly solid and stable.
This bed is greatWe bought it for our son so he could have a big boy bed to have sleep overs in. The only problem is that the bed platforms are actually twin xl sized. I purchased 2 twin sized mattresses and there is about 5 inches of space at the end. Not a huge deal, but it should be known that these are twin xls and not twins.

Give yourself a Saturday
Give yourself a Saturday. I did it all myself. It says two people but but one person can do it just fine. I am extremely pleased with the result.
2 complaints, but would definitely buy again

Great product, just need to mount to wall for stability

Great value
This bunk bed was super easy to assemble. It took myself and my two tween daughters under an hour to set up completely.
