I'm writing the review because I saw a few reviews listing problems, but I didn't find any with the one I ordered. The lid raises smoothly, fits well, stays in position when up. Product looks like the picture. The lid is rectangular (corners aren't rounded), which isn't completely clear from the picture. Padding on the top is adequate for sitting, but not super firm. I'd say it's a good product for the price.
UPDATE the screws used to hold the seatwere not long enough. Seat broke after a few uses. Old--: When I opened the box, I did not notice how the back right corner of the vanity was damaged. But what I did notice was the there was NO documentation regarding assembly. Fortunately, I am an old guy who has done stuff like this before so I knew what to do. HOWEVER - when it came to assembling the seat, the screws that were sent were way too short. Once the seat cushion was set on the stand, the screws did not even reach the wood on the bottom of the seat. Again, being an old-fart type, I have craploads of wood screws (yes young people, there are wood screws and metal screws) so I was able to put the seat together. This is another example of Chinese Crap.
It is cute, but not sturdy enough for the $. The stool upholstery is dirty, there were no pre-drilled holes, so you have to eyeball it. I would have used stronger screws in it, but the particle board would not be able to handle it. Packaged well so it came in great shape other than the stool. It has to do now since I cant get another before Christmas.
Packed well and nothing broken or chipped. Easy to assemble but screws that holds the mirror on are short and may need to be replaced with longer ones.

No documentation, damage, and bad hardware

Sturdy and pretty solid
My daughter got this asr a gift and she love it. My husband spent less than 30 minutes putting it together.

Nice vanity and fast shipping
Very nice vanity...easy to put together and very cute. A nice piece that would serve a variety of ages. I also got it in two days!
