Overall this was very easy to assemble except for the silly aesthetic verticals in the back. I wanted to scream!! I was able to complete this in about an hour. Impressed with the sturdiness. Overall I am happy and would recommend.
I accidentally ordered the trundles rather than the twin captains beds, but they have worked out fine, as we can use the trundle like a giant drawer until the boys get big enough to have friends over for the night. The beds went together perfectly and they are very sturdy and well-made. The blue is beautiful, and the finish is so tough that water rings easily wipe away. The only thing I had to do was put the bed feet on rubber squares in order to keep the bed from sinking into the carpet so that the trundles would pull out more easily. The trundles, like the drawers of the captains beds, are free floating, and do not run on any sort of rail.
You need two people to put it together and it can be frustrating keeping the slats together while you bolt the frame together. It looks fine and seems like it will hold up okay. I wouldnt put more than 250 pounds or so on it. You get what you pay for but it looks fine and serves its purpose as an occasional guest bed.
Very nice bed the only thing is that the instructions arent very clear so theres some instances where you have to guess how it goes and wish you have it right at the end. The holes where the wheels from trundle go are not placed right so that was something I really struggled with.
It doesnt feel as sturdy as it should though.
First, they sent the wrong bed. Luckily the exchange was simple so that was a plus. However, the bed was not pictured as described. The white is an off-white and the bed is very high off the ground. The assembly was an awful process and was nearly the demise of my marriage. Putting styrofoam circles into the slats is not a safe way to assemble a bed. The bed is squeaky and is not a long-term option.
This bed was well packed when received. Easy to put together and is very sturdy and beautiful. I read a lot of reviews before I purchase and decided this was the best value. So glad I Purchased this bad because it looks like it cost more than it did. I love it.
It is perfect, as advertised. The assembly could have gone a little better. There were two sets of fasteners that confused us but we saw our mistake before we got too far into the next step. A standard kids mattress would fit okay with no modifications, but the trundle didnt have enough clearance for our mattress to fit under the bed. We added another piece at the bottom of the head and footboards to raise the bed about 2-1/2. It was simple enough.
Went together relatively easy once you figure out the instructions. It is solid wood - so thats nice. Assuming pine.
Paint scuffs easily... the foot piece on our bed (mdf) was scuffed when we received it - well live with it, but that was a little disappointing.
Biggest complaint I have I guess is that the bed needs to air out for a day or more before using it - strong new furniture/chemical smell - from the paint I assume.
Kiddos sleeping in our bed tonight....

GOOD
I built it by myself, so it was fairly easy. It looks great and matches my guest room furniture
Need two people to assemble

Good spare bedroom bed
It is a daybed so it will only get used here or there. But it is a solid bed. Was very easy to put together if you have 2 people on the job.
Serves its purpose.

Not worth the time and money

Well-made bed for the money
