Perfect bed for extra storage in a small apartment! It took a few hours to put together (3 adults and a 10 year old helper) and the pieces could have been labeled better to make it easier, but we finally got it together. Its been 3 months and I have zero complaints.
One box with long wood pieces for mattress floor was missing. I received only two boxes of long wood pieces for two bed and one box was missing thats why I returned one bed.
After reading quite a few reviews, decided to go ahead and order the bed. Its a very me style and I desperately needed the storage space (plus, less room for cat shenanigans under the then-current bed frame. Boxes arrived in fine shape, no components broken at all. I was actually fairly impressed with the construction and having rebuilt a deck from scratch and replacing subflooring, thats none-too-shabby. The long slats are well-supported by the slots and the drawer sides, so am not anticipating any warping there, though next time we go about changing up the bed, may come back and add to the review. The slats are bare wood, so do watch for splinters (they got us a few times).
I would recommend a second pair of hands for putting this together, though as another review stated, it can be done with just one person. Might get a tiny bit frustrated putting the footboard pieces on as that requires getting both sides and all slots to behave at once, even with two people. Slats stayed in their slots (and oh, do I love that feature - no sliding slats!) once we got the frame secured. Drawers slid in nicely with a big of squaring (on carpet) and the drawers themselves were easy to assemble. So far, so good. Its currently holding a boxspring and a softside waterbed (having dealt with many waterbeds, no concerns over support or we wouldve used extra wood and l-brackets, which are life savers - always have them in your toolbox). If you want to buy this frame and are concerned with support, go ahead and buy the l-brackets or have them on hand - it never hurts to have them. There was some slight discoloration on a few of the drawer bottoms, but nothing structural, and its a drawer. Sizing seems good for standard mattress. It is a few inches taller than my previous frame, so my beagle has a bit more trouble getting on the bed, but so far, thats the only drawback.
Our idea of easy-to-assemble may vary wildly from someone elses. If youre used to putting together beds, desks, bookcases, etc., you shouldnt have much of a problem here. All you need is a screwdriver of some sort and the included allen wrench. If youre not comfortable with those types of projects, just take it slow. We did not get a separate headboard, so cannot speak to that.
I like the six drawers of storage but the sturdiness is a little weak at the head and foot of the bed frame, I sit on the foot of my bed to put on my sock every morning and in less than a month the short screws stripped out of the wood and the aluminum rail bent. I was able to modify and fix it with a few supplies from the hardware store. If you buy this bed frame I recommend adding a little more support to the aluminum rails before setting up your bed.
Purchased this bed for my 24 year old son. It took half a day to put it together but once it was done we were very happy with the quality for the price. The drawers are roomy and the color (we got the black) looks great in his room.
This took awhile to build but it wasnt that difficult, the main thing that was hard was putting in the wood pieces before putting youre mattress on. When putting in those wood pieces, we had to take off the end piece of the bed in order to align the wood pieces in between the metal. Other than that it was pretty easy. I had trouble with one drawer as well that wasnt really closing properly but if you take it out and re-slide it in (making sure the wheels are both going in at the same time) it will go right in perfectly.

Nice quality for the price

Works but takes a while to get together
Its a monster to put together. Combined with the matching storage headboard it was like 200-250 screws and took six hours.

Time Consuming
I did not like the time it took to assemble this bed however this bed is very sturdy once put together. You need alot of patience to assemble.
