It is a solid bed and quality materials, but its a pain in the butt to get in and out of unless you are a tiny child. I cant even sit on the edge of the bed to rub his back while he falls asleep. My son does love it though. Its just very annoying for me! Its super hard to make the bed and I have to lift him up really high to get him in it if he falls asleep and I have to put him in his bed. So I guess its great for the kids but not so great as a parent. I wish I would have just gotten a traditional bunk bed instead.
My husband didnt put it together exactly. He put the stairs slide side by side. But it will hold all 4 kids when they chill together. It is sturdy and perfect for our kids! Some days it is a jungle gym compared to a bed but it is holding up and they love it!
My daughter LOVES her bed. We live in a 100 year old farmhouse so the bedrooms are kind of tight, and this loft bed allows her to have her designated sleeping space AND all the space underneath for playing and toy storage. I assembled it by myself and it was very manageable. I had to lean the structure against a wall at one part to get the long and short sides together, but that wasnt a big deal. Its pretty sturdy, but well need a bunkie board when my daughter is bigger. I added clear non-slip traction tape to the ladder, which I recommend if your child likes to wear socks to bed, because the finish is very smooth and a child could lose their footing in socks. Its a great bed for the price!
It is easy to set up and didnt take too long, our marriage has been tested more by furniture. The bottom is nice but so short. I will hit my head trying to get out and I am 52. The top is nice and easy to get into. The best part of this is that I can easily change the sheets without hurting myself. The only bad thing is the slats on the bottom of the bed frames. If I put my knee down it will push the mattress through. Of course we went with the cheap foam mattresses that are only 4 thick but I wish these came with a better board for the bottom of the beds, thankfully the kids dont care. The slide is so so fast! We thought of putting something on the slide to slow it down but the kids have figured out how to slow themselves down thankfully because every time I watched them come down I about had a heart attack.
Overall cute bed, good for beginning room sharers. Great height and easy assembly.
First I would like to say that has excellent customer service. I had a question about assembly and Tony went above and beyond to help me. I appreciate that this was made out of REAL wood. I assembled this on my own in two hours. Directions were simple and easy to follow. Ive seen comments regarding the chalkboard, it is a real chalkboard. Perhaps not classroom quality, but we use the Crazyart chalk and it draws and erases fine. My two year old has does a great job getting up and down and is obsessed with his big boy bed. Hes got a small room so this was the perfect size. I added the height of how high it comes off the ground. It is a LOW loft. Its great for storage but couldnt be used as a hang out spot for an older kid. Overall, I am VERY impressed with this product. I normally avoid furniture purchases off of but we are so happy with the bed. This is a great value for your money.
First of all. This bunk actually shipped to Hawaii for $30 and that is already amazing. We have very limited choices here so we were happy to see this would ship. The UPS guy struggled a bit with the big box to get it to the garage. It is very long and heavy. Lucky for us 70 yo Grampa is in top shape and slung it on his shoulders and carried it to the back of the house. My 17 yo and I opened the box down stairs and carried pieces up and laid them out in the master according to page numbers. I am 7 months pregnant and assisted my 17 yo and we put it together pretty quick. She did most of it. Laying it out in order really helped. Definitely need two people especially the foot and headboard slats they are a bit annoying. For the mattress we used a 11 mattress for the bottom. We wanted more comfort in case it needed to be a guest bed but that mattress was much to high for the top as it came up to the rails. So for the top we got a mattress in a box from that was only 6 and it worked great. Maybe we will use another for the bottom to make more space. There is a metal bar under the top bunk that knocked a few heads so we got a pool noodle and sliced it down one side and it popped on perfectly.
We got the pink curtains and I didnt like the idea of the plastic windows for safety and because it might be too hot so we carefully trimmed out the plastic windows. I tossed it in the dryer on refresh and it came out smelling good and less wrinkled. We put up the Velcro and used a staple gun to secure it to the bed then added the curtain and it is on there pretty solid even when daddy climbed in.
My 5yo was so excited to hear she was getting a baby sister and she could finally have a bunk bed and she loves it. She would like to say it is easy to climb up the ladder and the Secret Club underneath is good for secret meetings.
Overall this bed is very sturdy and was easy to build. We used a power drill set to low and that helped it go really fast. This bed shipped quickly and arrived in a few days. My advice is get the right drill bits and use a power drill set to low. Use a separate room to lay out the pieces and have a helper. We got the Clay color to match the rest of the furniture and it is very cute. This is not a wonky bed. We are quite happy with it.
We love these and my 2 and 4 yesr olds enjoy it. The bed is very sturdy and the finish is very nice. It took a few hours to put together. Its not difficult just broken down into a lot of pieces.
We bought this for our son (6) and daughter (3) who share a small room and needed their own space for sleeping. The bunk beds came in a timely manner and my husband was able to set them up in a reasonable amount of time. Weve had the beds for almost 6 months and have had no problems and the kids are very happy with it. The only thing we changed to give a little more headroom to the bottom bunk is we took off the bottom slats so the bed sits on the ground. We also bought 6 inch tempurpedic mattresses for both the top and bottom bunk to give more space. Those few extra inches make all the difference for mommy/daddy to sit comfortably on the bed and read a story at night.
