We bought this futon for our sixteen-year-old son, and it is perfect for him. I was worried it would not be durable enough to withstand teenagers, but it is, and it looks great. It is comfortable used as a couch or as a bed. I can easily recommend this great futon.
The futon was delivered as promised. It was beautifully packaged and super simple t o put together. I had the help of my 6 year old, which makes any job a bit more difficult AND STILL we completed it in about 30 minutes. The sofa is sturdy and fits 3 people comfortably. Its a stiff futon but thats what I like about it. It opens into a bed that is in-between a full size and a twin size. Im 155 lbs and my hubby is about 160, and we can lay on it and be somewhat comfortable if we NEEDED to sleep on it. Its modern and the navy is sooo super nice. I love it.
You will not find a cheaper and more efficient buy for your first apartment or enlarged dorm. This is a great bargain and you can definitely sit or get work done on this thing for several hours. Some of you heavier sleepers may even be fine sleeping on this thing.
Keep in mind that this linen futon is somewhat hollow and will not provide lush support or suppleness that a more expensive futon may provide. Overall it is a great bargain, can meet most extended seating needs, but is not going to win any awards for super comfort.
Nice, comfortable futon. Its very easy to put together, packaged neatly. I would give it five stars if it were a bit bigger but it fits in our nursery perfectly, I would recommend this futon for the price and the comfort, for sure.
I assembled this myself, and it took me about an hour and 10 minutes. The instructions are very clear on how to put this together. I had some difficulty screwing in the arms, but I was assembling it alone.
The quality is a solid 8/10 for the price. I find this to be quite comfortable. Other reviewers have likened the toughness to sitting on a park bench (to paraphrase). This is not the case. The couch has some give to it. It is tougher where the cushions meet in the middle. The cushions sort of dome up, too, which goes to say that the front of the couch leans downward. I imagine that the cushions will sink down after theyve worn in. It is comfortable to lay down and watch a movie on or nap. I havent tried folding it down.
Other reviews have complained about it tipping when its folded down. There are legs in zippers up behind the couch backing that pull out when it is being used as a bed.
Im impressed with the product. I was expecting cheap looking futon but this one was pretty nice. But it doesnt click tight and my brother was leaning on it and it was slowing going flat. But we snapped it right back on. Its for my apt and it looks very very nice for the priced that i paid for.
I brought it on March 10th and it go here today (March 15th). Theres very little assembling required. All your doing in screwing on the legs. The legs are tucked away in a zipped compartment underneath the futon (not hard to miss). It took me roughly 20 mins to put everything together. When its all set up the futon sits about 14 1/2 inches off the ground Im 510 and I dont have a problem getting up off of it. I dont have a problem with it sinking either (though Ive only had it for a few hours now lol). When laid flat, the bed is about the size of a full size mattress. If you add the chaise (which lays flat too) it could be a queen sized mattress. The ONLY thing I dont really like is how it feels. Its a bit too firm for my liking but I can deal with it! Overall, Im very happy with this!
I needed some extra seating for my tv room, but I didnt want to spend a fortune. I searched first, because its my go to foreverything. Sadly, I havent had much luck with furniture, so I was hesitant when I saw this highly rated at $159, but I saw the thousands of reviews and decided to pull the trigger.
First, the box. I loved that shipping box: not ONE annoying staple, which, for me at least, means no cuts. The futon itself came wrapped in a cloth protection cover, with the legs neatly hidden in a zippered compartment underneath the bottom of the futon.
Second, the assembly. I have put together a lot of furniture over the years, for myself and family members. I normally rate the assembly process in one of three ways: 1) how many glasses of wine I drink during the assembly process, 2) how many breaks I take during the assembly process, and 3) how many hours elapse before I call my husband and tell him if he doesnt take over, Im throwing it away.
So, using this scoring process: 1) 0, 2) 0 and 3) 0. In this case, a 0 score=perfection! The only thing that needs to be done is screwing on the legs, and that takes about 15-20 minutes. Thats it!
As for the comfort, yes, it is firm. Again, it cost $159. I certainly didnt expect down filling, and this wont get daily use in my house, so the foam cushion works. I will probably buy some pillows for the back, but the bottom doesnt bother me. I think it will work as an extra bed in an emergency too. I personally prefer a firm mattress, and many others do too. If we have a guest who prefers something softer, we have a mattress topper that we can use, problem solved.
Overall, Id say trust the reviews. If you need an affordable seating option, this is absolutely the best bet.
