    Extremely Happy

We purchased the bunks in September and they sat in the box for over a month. They were surprisingly easy to put together. The directions were simple, all of the parts were there and after about two hours (I took my time) they were finished. We were very happy with the color of the wood and the fact that the bunks were very sturdy. We have two boys sleeping in them ages 5 and 8 and the bunks are holding up very well. There is good storage underneath the bottom bunk. This is an excellent bunk bed for the price. Brian Dunphy

    Erector Set

LOTS of pieces, but worth it after assembly. Everything well aligned and easy to build, but make sure you have a cordless drill with a good clutch so as to not over tighten the screws and strip them out, and a hex bit(metric) that fits the screw heads. supplied a wrench to tighten the screws, but youd be at it all day w/o the drill. Packed very tight and package is heavy( about 116) but OK to move with 2 guys.Arrived in great shape and fast thru Super saver Shipping. Bought the Espresso instead of the Cherry as it was 100 cheaper(Bought 2 sets). Color is not too dark and looks classy. All 4 beds feel very sturdy after assembly. I added 3 slats to the 7 provided per bed as Adults will be sleeping on these occasionally. The 10 slats are now about 5.25 inches apart. Bought 1x3s at HDepot .Also added 1 Luan Plywood as a Bunky Board that was probably not necessary but I screwed them to the slats to further stiffen it. Result is a very sturdy 2 sets of Bunkbeds that are rated at 250lbs each bed and that look and work. Had one of the rails with a crack in a Knot all the way to the outside of the rail, so called the WE number and they have already shipped the replacement. A PERSON from AMERICA answered the call and helped me with NO hassle. These beds are made in Vietnam and show pride of Manufacturing and packaging. Fabulous Buy.

    Sturdy and stable

After buying a lot of furniture over the years from and not being impressed with the longevity of products, I decided to try this one. What a world of difference heavy solid wood can do! This is quite a sturdy and stable bunk bed. The customer service was very prompt and shipped me two parts. First was a side board that was presumably damaged during shipping. The second time was when a slat was broken at a worl. The slats are made of light wood and dont look very strong, and it most certainly wouldnt withstand kids jumping on it. I have it in a bunk/bed configuration, so there is very little headroom for kids to jump on this bed. When the kids are older, I plan to revert it to a side/by/side configuration and hopefully by then the kids wont be so inclined to jump on their beds. I have put two spring mattresses directly on the slats. This is a good buy. I personally prefer steel beds as they are strong, safe and durable. But, this appears to be one that should last until the kids leave home.

Solid Bunk Bed and Excellent Value

Bought this as an extra bunk bed to have at a ski condo. We just put this bed together and it took my wife and myself about 1.5 hours to do so. I used a cordless drill with the correct bit. Doing so will save you a ton of time vs using the allen wrench provided. It comes in a single box that is very heavy (guessing 180+ pounds), so make sure you have two able bodied people to move it. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is due to the supporting slats for the mattresses. They are too far apart and anyone over 100 pounds will cause them to sag and the mattress to push through. Specs say it will hold someone up to 250 lbs but I wouldnt trust that. I am going to add extra half inch x 6 inch pine boards to make a better platform for the mattress and make me feel better about someone heavy getting on the beds. Other than that it seems like a great deal. Went together without a hitch, the all the hardware is solid and holes all lined up. We are thinking about getting another one due to the great price and free shipping with Prime.

Bought to use as two separate beds / sturdy and beautiful!

I would probably give this bed 4 1/2 stars if I could. But its definitely closer to 5 than to 4! I love this bed. I have been considering and looking for several months for beds for my 3/ and 5/year/olds when it occurred to me that we could just buy a bunk bed and use it as two beds! Then, if we decide to turn it into a bunk bed later, we can. I wanted a bed that was sturdy, but not too expensive, and that would match the nightstand in their room. After reading a lot of reviews on other beds, we decided to go with this one. The bed arrived quickly because we live in Utah (it shipped from Salt Lake) and arrived in a day. The box was HEAVY, but my husband brought it in with a dolly. My husband assembled it without any trouble. My girls were able to help him and he was able to get both beds done in two evenings (after work and before kiddos go to bed). He didnt have any major issues and it was helpful that he had good power tools to help move the project along more quickly. He did have to finish assembling it in the girls room because their doorway wasnt quite wide enough to bring the assembled single beds in. I have two small complaints, and I read other people mention these as well. 1, it DID smell a little bit like varnish. We put an air purifier in their room, though, and it took care of the smell in about 3 days. Airing out the room would probably have worked, too (but it was too smoky outside to open windows). 2, the slats WERE a little far apart. Id suggest either a bunkie board, a piece of plywood, or having a couple more slats made to go in the bed. We chose the later and with the two extra slats, they were spaced about 6 inches apart. I loooooove the storage space under the beds! I can put boxes under there for stuffed animals or clothes, AND my girls can fit under there without getting stuck (yeah, I gave up on trying to keep my kids from hiding under the bed). Theres probably 15 or 16 inches of space. Its really great. And again, I love that the bed is sturdy. And its really beautiful. The color is between the espresso (the color we ordered) and cherry, so it ended up perfect for us. For 160 per bed vs. 500 per bed at the store, this was definitely a big win for us. Love it love it!

Great Bunk Bed that my kids love!

Shipping from came very quick. The bunk bed came in one long box, and wasnt as big as I thought it would be. All the parts were there. Just be careful not to lose a screw, or bolt because you get the exact amount of hardware that is needed to complete the project. It was very easy to build using the instructions given. One person can put this together except for putting the top bunk on the bottom bunk. That will require two people. It will also require a power drill to drill the screws in the slat boards to the actual bunks. Other than that nothing else is needed as it comes with all the tools and hardware needed. My kids love it very much. Wood did not have bad fumes to it at all. I read a review that it did so I opened it up to air out and it just smelled like wood. Great product and came as advertised and this was one of the only beds that nothing negative was said about it.

    Not what I expected

This seems to be a fairly sturdy bed, and it looks nice, but there were a few things that were different in the product description compared to the actual instructions that came with the bed. For example, the website (and the manufacturers website) say that this should be used with a mattress that is no more than 8 tall. However, when we received the bed, the instructions say the top mattress must not be taller than 6. The recommended spacing for the slats was also frustrating because it placed some of the slats in the way of the pre/drilled holes for the ladder. My main frustration with this bed is the smell of the varnish. It is incredibly strong. We have been airing my sons room out for about a week now, and it is still pretty overwhelming. (For the first few days, we left all the windows open, had a fan going, and closed his bedroom door. We made him sleep in another room because the smell was so strong.) We are actually going to return the bed because the smell is bothering us so much. Overall, it seems like it would be a sturdy bed, but because of the factors mentioned above, Im pretty disappointed. Update: We did return the bed, and I was SO pleased with s customer service! I was dreading having to return this, but it was really easy. They arranged to have UPS pick it up, and we received a full refund.

    Best Bunk Bed

Love it, it wasnt to hard to put together, took me most of Saturday but it was pretty simple to do. The kids absolutley love it and I liked the way the dark finished look.

    Great Bed!

Received this bunk bed for my children and was very happy with everything about it. For the price it is ideal. Obviously this is a flat pack item and requires assembly. I would highly recommend using a clutched cordless drill with a 2 Phillips bit for the wood screws and if you can get a hex bit for the bolts. Using power tools makes assembly much easier as long as you make sure to clutch the drill so you dont strip anything. Once assembled this bed is sturdy and has a nice finish. I am very pleased.
